There are several factors that go in to answering this question; your hair type, lifestyle, desired results and budget. At Angelina Extensions, we focus solely on nano-technology because we believe it’s the safest for all hair types, but especially fine, thin hair. Check out our Blog on this topic.

Nano extensions are a great option for fine, thin, or even chemically damaged hair due to their lightweight design. Each strand weighs only 0.8 grams, making them one of the lightest extension methods available. Using the inverted triangle method, weight is distributed evenly across the head, allowing nanos to sit comfortably without straining the natural hair. Because they are installed without glue, heat, or adhesives, they remain a safe and gentle choice while still providing a seamless, natural look. Check out our Blog for more information.

Proper aftercare for hair extensions is crucial to maintaining their longevity, keeping your natural hair healthy, and ensuring they stay looking great.
Some of rules to follow to maintain nano-extensions:
Use a sulfate/paraben free shampoo
Gently cleanse between beads; do not scrub
Condition mid-length to ends only
Always fully dry the bead area
Dry roots first, then lengths
Use medium heat + controlled airflow
Use a loop brush or extension-safe brush
Always support the root area with your hand, brushing ends → mid → roots
At night, tie your hair back in a loose braid or low ponytail and use a silk/satin pillowcase
Never sleep with wet or damp hair
Always use a heat protectant
Avoid direct heat on beads and do not get oils, serums, or conditioner near beads
Keep all hair product at least 2–3 inches away from roots
Keep tools under 190°C (375°F)

You will know it’s time, if beads start to peak through, brushing feels more difficult at the root area, extensions feel heavier or uneven; you may feel tension when styling or tying hair. The best approach is to schedule your maintenance appoint when you’re install is complete. Most clients need repositioning every 6-8 weeks but some clients with fine hair prefer 5-6 weeks.

Shedding is a natural part of the hair growth cycle, with around 50 to 100 hairs lost per day. When wearing nano extensions, the bead holds onto those shed hairs. Maintenance is required every 6 to 8 weeks depending on your natural hair density. During the appointment, I remove the bead and extension, brush out the shed hairs and product buildup, and then reinstall the same extension on a fresh triangular section.
